Teletrax stores information in a broadcast picture by subtly manipulating the noise that naturally occurs in moving images without impairing the picture quality. A global network of decoders or "detectors," then captures all occurrences of this watermarked video being transmitted via satellite, cable or terrestrially and generates tracking reports for the content owners.

As part of its digital distribution strategy, Corbis uses Digimarc® ImageBridge watermarking to place imperceptible digital watermarks carrying a unique image ID into millions of the low-resolution images displayed on www.corbis.com. It also employs Digimarc® MarcSpider image tracking as a means to search the public Internet for its images, feeding Corbis' rights management and compliance program. Today, Corbis identifies up to 50 cases of unauthorized commercial use of Corbis images per month using Digimarc digital watermarking solutions.

Saskia has built its business on the strong relationship of trust it has fostered with museums around the world. When Saskia moved their large collection of art history photographs to the Internet to better serve their customers, they had a new challenge of maintaining high-quality image protection for museum and photographer copyrights online. Saskia turned to Digimarc to provide both enhanced copyright and license compliance, and a scalable, automated solution that would fit into their existing workflow. Workbookstock's success in locating infringed images is facilitated by use of Digimarc's ImageBridge technology, which dynamically watermarks images with transaction specific data. Workbookstock uses this information to identify the image, the date and time it was downloaded and who did the downloading. Once the images are marked, Digimarc's MarcSpider technology is used to track and locate the images on the Web. This image-tracking technology works by continually crawling the Web searching for digitally watermarked images, reporting results back to Workbookstock and enabling the company to identify potential copyright infringements. In the majority of cases so far, users who have infringed on the copyrights of Workbookstock contributors have received cease and desist letters; the company intends to litigate those who won't comply with the copyright laws.
