June 2012

With the June issue, House Beautiful became the world’s first “Pinterest-enabled” print magazine. Since the publication already had an existing Pinterest presence, they were eager to take advantage of Digimarc’s Print-to-Pinâ„  solution to link the “Kitchen of the Month” editorial with the “Kitchen of the Month” pinboard. When readers scan the featured kitchen photo on page 112 with the House Beautiful Connect mobile app, they are instantly connected to the related pinboard. Here the readers can easily view all of the pinned images from the article and re-pin those they desire to their personal pinboards. Each of the pinned images maintain their link back to the House Beautiful website for additional engagement opportunities.

May 2012

You CAN judge a magazine by its cover with the May 2012 House Beautiful issue! A custom die-cut foldout reveals a top down view of the table featured on the facing page. Using the HB Connect app (powered by Digimarc Discover) reveals a time-lapse movie of setting the most beautiful table.

April 2012

House Beautiful is committed to providing readers of its print edition with enhanced content enabled by Digimarc Discover — and the April 2012 issue is no exception. The gatefold cover is digitally watermarked to connect readers with a poll to determine America's favorite paint color, a subject directly in tune with their interests.

February 2012

House Beautiful partnered with longtime advertiser Glidden® Paint to introduce the first-of-its-kind integrated advertising experience between editorial content. Scanning the watermarked content takes readers to housebeautiful.com, where Glidden Paint splash pages — promoting the brand’s new color expert blogger portal, MyColortopia.com — appear prior to House Beautiful's online features, giving the advertiser an engaging new way to connect with readers. In addition to the pre- and post-roll Glidden branding on the editorial videos, House Beautiful partnered with Glidden to produce the first sponsored video promoting Glidden’s MyColortopia.com.

November 2011

House Beautiful continued with their commitment to innovation by placing digital watermarks throughout their November issue. The glossy cover included a call to action enabled by Digimarc Discover, plus House Beautiful refined the "Digital Table of Contents," highlighting all the digitally watermarked interactive content throughout. The publisher himself discusses on camera why he's so enthusiastic about the technology.

October 2011

The October 2011 issue of House Beautiful represents the first national magazine to use Digimarc Discover technology. Making it easy for readers to identify the editorial with additional content, House Beautiful debuted their special Table of Contents specifically highlighting the digitally watermarked features and also created a new icon that appeared throughout the issue informing readers of the special features. House Beautiful pledged to feature a minimum of five Digimarc Discover watermarks in every issue.

July/August 2011

The beginning of a beautiful relationship, this is the issue that started it all. House Beautiful ran a test of Digimarc Discover in the centerfold spread, linking to a video of the interior designer discussing the choices made. The success of this application convinced the publisher of the value digital watermarks provided to enhance the reading experience.
