How it works
The Digimarc Barcode Manager is where you can Digimarc-enable your images, audio files and product packaging. Anyone can quickly set up an account in the Barcode Manager. Once you have registered an account and signed in, it's easy to create and manage projects and Digimarc Barcodes. Setting up a Digimarc Barcode can be completed in minutes with very little impact to your workflow.
To support the Barcode Manager, Digimarc has deployed a highly available web service that communicates with your device when a Digimarc Barcode is detected. The system finds the URL associated with the unique Digimarc Barcode and returns the web experience within seconds, while capturing metrics for each instance of user engagement.
Projects are like folders that help you organize your Digimarc Barcodes. For example, a project could reference a product line, an issue of a magazine, an advertising campaign, a playlist or a specific client or brand. These are just a few suggestions; feel free to choose a method of organization that makes sense to you.
From your accounts home page, click New Project to create a new project.
We recommend assigning a name that is easily recognizable for each project. For example, let's say you’re the publisher of Example Magazine and you want to include Digimarc Barcodes in the August 2016 issue. You might want to name your project "Example Campaign – August 2016."
There is no limit to the number of projects you can create, and keeping organized is the best way to ensure your ability to efficiently update your Digimarc Barcodes should you need to make any changes.
Creating Digimarc Barcodes
A project is composed of individual Digimarc Barcodes. A Digimarc Barcode enables the connection between your packaging, print or audio media and a web experience. For example, linking a car advertisement (in a magazine or on the radio) to an online video of the car — highlighting its features and performance — can be enabled by a Digimarc Barcode. Every Digimarc Barcode that you buy delivers a globally unique identifier that can trigger its own web experience.
The Reports page shows the consumer engagement activity of your Digimarc Barcodes over a selected period of time. This tells you how many times each unique Digimarc Barcode was accessed by consumers using their smartphone or mobile device.
The Account Settings tab under the “My Account” button allows you to enter additional account and contact information. Digimarc encourages you to enter information on this page to help us contact you in case we need to provide additional assistance related to your account. You can edit your account information, invite users, or check your monthly activity and billing information from this page.
