Customized reports prioritize results for increased efficiency in managing image assets

Beaverton, Ore. — April 30, 2009 — Digimarc Corporation (NASDAQ: DMRC) today announced the availability of its enhanced Online Search Service, with newly improved reporting capabilities that allow Digimarc for Images customers to locate where their images are being used online as well as prioritize the results to ensure their time is focused on follow-up activities with the highest return.

Digimarc for Images allows users to place an imperceptible digital identifier (digital watermark) into digital photographs, illustrations, artwork and more. This digital ID allows the Digimarc Search Service to crawl the web and locate where these images are being used. The service provides detailed reports which can be used to review unauthorized use, or ensure proper use of images within sales and distribution channels.

The new reporting capabilities provide Digimarc for Images users with:

  • A list of all URLs where images were found along with corresponding thumbnail images
  • A summary of all web domains with the number of images found on each
  • Drill down capabilities into specific web domains
  • Filtering for high value images that are most important to the user
  • Ability to export all data to archive results or conduct a deeper analysis

Digital watermarks can be embedded using Adobe® PhotoShop®, the most commonly used image editing software in the world, or automatically embedded as part of a server solution for Enterprises, to help to protect valuable image assets by communicating copyright ownership. As new users subscribe to Digimarc for Images, they are given the option to add the Search Service to locate where their images are being used on online.

"Digimarc is pleased to provide enhanced reporting to help our customers better prioritize their follow-up as they uncover unauthorized or misuse of their images," said Jeri Owen, Digimarc Vice President of Marketing. "These recent improvements are part of an overall plan for continued enhancements that will support brand owners and professional photographers."
