Beaverton, Ore — March 8, 2013 — Digimarc Corporation (NASDAQ: DMRC) today began demonstrating how top publications, retailers, shows and brands will reach mobile-enabled customers via digital watermarks in radio, TV and in-store at SXSW 2013 March 8-12. The demo, by appointment only, shows how embedded digital watermarking across print, audio, video and other outlets will engage, immerse and connect consumers with the world around them.
Transparent digital watermarking technology is used in countless print publications and catalogs to connect shoppers with premium content, e-commerce offers, contests and more via a quick scan of text or images with their smartphone. Digital watermarks placed in magazine editorial and advertising content grew 486 percent from 2011 to 2012, reaching more than 37 million readers in total.
Quickly moving beyond print, digital watermarking promises to bring an immersive mobile marketing framework to brands for increased sales impact. The company's demo at SXSW booth #443/445 will showcase how businesses will connect with target customers as they browse print, listen to the radio, watch TV, walk store aisles and more. Brands will get a glimpse at geo targeting, integrated payoffs, invisible brand triggers, comparative marketing analytics and more.
"The technology behind the Digimarc Discover platform is being rapidly expanded to encompass all the places publishers, advertisers and brands want to connect with customers throughout their shopping journey," said Ed Knudson, Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing at Digimarc. "At SXSW, we will give these businesses a look at what's to come in digital watermarking, such as how to expand to radio, TV and in-store. We'll discuss essential campaign factors such as the best times to engage customers, most popular payoffs and how to maintain brand integrity and campaign cohesion at every touch point."
SXSW Conferences and Festivals (March 8-17, 2013) offer the unique convergence of original music, independent films, and emerging technologies. Fostering creative and professional growth alike, SXSW is the premier destination for discovery.

The Digimarc Discover mobile applications are available for licensing and can be integrated into existing applications.
Publishers and others can embed digital watermarks into content using the Digimarc Discover Online Services Portal (OSP).
