Supermarket Employee Day 2021

April 30, 2021

Supermarket employees have rightly been acknowledged during COVID-19 as being essential workers; Critical members of society, who have shown up, day-in and day-out, to make sure store shelves are full and shoppers can get the products they need for their families.

To acknowledge their work and sacrifice, the Food Industry Association (FMI), has proclaimed February 22 as a time for the industry to "recognize employees at every level for the work they do feeding families and enriching lives."

Digimarc and its employees join FMI in thanking supermarket employees, not only for their work during the pandemic, but for their steady, faithful work over decades.

Over the years, Digimarc has been involved in sponsoring and conducting a number of studies and reports that examine the day-to-day operational tasks, as well as safety issues, that affect supermarket employees. Find out more:

  • Cashier ergonomic study by the Exercise Science Research Center at the University of Arkansas.
  • Forrester study on the impact of long lines at a checkout
  • Harris Poll survey of how damaged fresh labels frustrate cashiers and hurt retailers

Find out how Digimarc is helping supermarkets and its employees promote safe shopping during the pandemic.
