Digimarc Patent Portfolio Ranking by The Wall Street Journal Rises Among Global Technology Leaders

Beaverton, Ore. — November 9, 2011 — Digimarc Corporation (NASDAQ: DMRC) has entered the top 10 of The Wall Street Journal's (WSJ) Information Technology scorecard of leading innovators in the industry. Ranked at #9 overall, the Company has the highest Industry Impact™ score in the top 50. According to the Wall Street Journal, Industry Impact™ indicates the extent to which others are building upon a portfolio of issued US utility patents as compared to the total set of utility patents in the industry.

The rankings are based on the Patent Board's Patent Scorecard. The Patent Board has developed more than 50 indicators that track global patent activity relating to companies' innovation, technology and science strengths and provides analysis for the WSJ. Digimarc is listed among technology heavyweights such as IBM, Microsoft, Apple, and Oracle.
