Beaverton, Ore. and Las Vegas, NV – Money 20/20, Booth #533 – November 3, 2014 – In the latest development by Digimarc Corporation (NASDAQ: DMRC) in its growing enablement of the modern mobile-centric shopping experience, the Company and select business partners will demonstrate its new mobile payment software development kit (SDK) for securely exchanging payment information between retailers and shoppers at the Money 20/20 tradeshow in Las Vegas, November 2-5, 2014. These demonstrations will show attendees how Digimarc-encoded images can be displayed on existing mobile devices and payment terminals to enable reliable, fast, intuitive and secure checkout – all within consumer-friendly familiar branded experiences.
The demos will highlight integration of Digimarc’s SDK with Mozido’s mobile payment and retail loyalty solutions as well as MorphoTrust’s digital driver license and identification technology supporting the following common payment scenarios:
The Digimarc Payment Presentment SDK extends the Company’s growing support for mobile centric shoppers, following on the introduction of Digimarc Discover and the Digimarc Barcode, both of which will also be demonstrated at the show.
The demos will provide compelling evidence of how Digimarc’s patented communications protocol for mobile payment presentment can reduce costs and security risks associated with alternative approaches to mobile payments, such as Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), RFID or NFC. In particular, with Digimarc’s approach, card issuers retain control of sensitive data and the line-of-sight requirement for data transmission is much more difficult to intercept than technologies that broadcast payment information using a radio signal.
The demos will also show how Digimarc can enhance payment transactions both online and in the store. This versatile platform provides an intuitive solution to shoppers, supporting numerous different approaches to mobile payments, while maintaining a strong brand presence for merchants and payment card issuers. It is an economical solution for retail merchants leveraging image scanner hardware investments and improves security over alternative technologies.
